The Boeing 787 Dreamliner is actually one of the most requested aircraft on the site and just listed in our downloads library is a fully-featured FSX and Prepar3D v4/v5 compatible version which consists of a compilation of mods and repaints bundled into one package.

Over 8 repaints are included as standard featuring both military and civilian paints with plans to add many more to the "mega pack" - so bookmark the download page to stay up to date with the latest liveries released for this pack.

This new version includes a brand new visual model, a fully functional virtual cockpit, and new high definition textures for FSX. Also included is a HUD (Heads-up-display) system created by Jivko Rusev and Scott Printz. He didn't mention how many livery designs came with the download, however, I can see there are about three (although there could be more). At over 128MB in size, it's quite a large download but the bulk of that size goes to the higher definition textures.

This aircraft is fun to fly with aircraft carriers (which you can download here) and is very good at STOL (short take-off/landing). It's one of the better Goshawk packages out there - and certainly the best freeware available.

Added to the aircraft section for this article for 2019 is the stunning 737-900ER by Tenkuu Developers Studio (TDS). This model is one of the finest we have seen for a while which is why we have featured it here. It has received a complete 5 out of 5-star rating from our PRO members. At just over 24 MB it's also an easy one to download.

While the file size is not that large, you really wouldn't notice it from looking at the aircraft. In fact, when choosing what to download I'm the type that usually goes on file size - expecting larger to be better... this isn't always the case and this aircraft is a demonstration as to why.

The Aero Commander AC680S is a very impressive and powerful piece of kit. With three models included in this download, you can get to try out an interesting little piece of aircraft that tends to generally differ from what you might be used to.

We feature a whole range of photoreal scenery add-ons for both FSX and Prepar3D in the downloads library. They are compatible with all versions of both sims - from the first version right up the latest (Steam Edition and Prepar3D v4).

This compilation package was initially available as individual downloads from OZx but since the demise of the OZx group (and their website) it has been harder and harder to find the files they generously gave away for free to the flight sim community.

Have to hand it to you Ian. I tried some of downloads from your best free ware for FSX a few months and they put me off freeware for life. Also didn't like your joystick article a few weeks ago. As I said before you should be incouraging those who are new to FSX to get a used or new Microsoft Sidewinder force feedback 2 rather than all that other crap.However Without having trying any of these I like the aritcle and I will definitely try the ifly 747 rather than buying the PMDG at least until V2.The Goshawk looks like good and looks fun so I'll try that too. The rest look like they are almost certain to disappoint anyone used to payware 737's, Q400 and the like. But they are free. right

We have downloaded Concorde from the free downloads, but then received this message -"Sorry, an error has occurred. This application could not be installed because the air file is damaged. Try obtaining a new air file from the application author."Can you help? Thanks Fred

You mentioned that you never use a VC. Is there some other type of cockpit that you can use in FSX? The 727 download from this article has no cockpit at all. (Unless you press Shift+1, then a cockpit pops up but it disappears every time you change the screen and it makes the outside world and runway appear to move very slow..

@Steve - Yes, there are many ways to add additional AI traffic into FSX. Check out our misc section here - it has many AI expansion packs such as this one. You may also find the AI Traffic Editor download we have here also very useful. Let me know if this helps.

I like and downloaded the Goshawk T-45c , but I was woundering where the setting is for increaseing decreasing the elevation, speed ,ILS, there is no CDI in menue? downloaded the adobe information also.

I have recently downloaded two of the free aircraft models from your list. The Project Opensky 737-800 and the Cirrus 20. Neither seem to include virtual cockpits. The Cirrus download specifically mentions moving the content the gauges folder to the general gauges folder in FSX. There was no gauges folder included in the download. What am I missing?

I downloaded the file "b747-400-1.zip" recently. I followed the installation guide but it never worked. It is a multi-texture file for FSX 747 although I installed similar files before had no problem. I will be happy to have any advice on this. Thanks.

Of these 20 files, I had already downloaded the C-47 Skytrain V3 some time ago and I really love it; It is one of the planes that I like the most and especially this improved version, its sound, textures, cabin, everything.

I have downloaded and installed hundreds of aircraft and add-ons from Fly Away Simulation and other sites and have never had a problem. The installation for the two downloads mentioned above was as "clear as mud."

I just wanted to add that I think this is a good site and the downloads here are really good. Currently, I am downloading the A380 airbus package. I was told it is really good, so I wanted to check it out.
